AT THE RESTAURANT ... For the uninitiated, here's how to order a meal in Florence (and in Italy): Antipasto - Salami, cheese, crostino, bruschetta, carpaccio..mmh... Primo piatto - Pasta, lasagne, Pici, tagliatelle, Spaghetti and so on... Secondo piatto - The main course, usually meat or fish with a contorno, insalata (salad) or chips (patatine fritte) ... Dolce - The dessert, tiramisù, torta della nonna, millefoglie and many many others ... Caffè - The coffee...that could be "Macchiato", "Corto", "Lungo", "Corretto"... Ammazzacaffé - After the coffee...? A limoncello, a sweet liqueur, a Grappa, an amaro... Cappuccino - Never never order a Cappuccino after a lunch or a dinner or the Italians around you will look at you in a very very bad way...!
